2012 Forrest 6 Hour
Giant Bicycles Australia headed down from Melbourne over the weekend to the annual Forrest 6 Hour event for some mountain bike action. The weather gods were kind on the day and there was only a little bit of drizzle throughout the morning with sunny breaks later on in the afternoon keeping the course fairly dry.
Giant was well represented in both the men's and women's side of things. In the men's event Scott Chancellor went hard out of the gates with Sam Chancellor and Luke Fetch not far behind. After a couple of laps Sam Chancellor and Luke Fetch acquired a bit of a lead and it came down to the last lap where Sam had to eventually settle for second place behind Luke, Scott finished not far behind in third place. Ironman triathlete Damien Angus left his compression socks at home and also took part in the Solo category finishing in 6th place.. Not bad for his second ride out on the mountain bike this year!
Liv/giant athlete and Forrest local Jessica Douglas finished in 2nd place in the women's race around 10 minutes down on Peta Mullens. Road racer Nicole Whitburn also flew the Liv/giant flag and finished in 6th place. Congrats also to Rebecca Locke and Naomi Williams who won the female pairs category for Liv/giant!
As well as the racing we had a fleet of demo bikes including both Maestro dual suspension bikes and 29er hardtails.
See you at Forrest Festival in December for more scenic riding action!
