A Giant Ironman Melbourne in 2012!

Apr022012

Last weekend celebrating the first time ever that an Ironman distance triathlon was held in the city of Melbourne. Giant was well represented on race day with Clayton Fettell and Mitch Anderson representing in the Elite men's field not too mention all the fantastic age groupers out there as well.

To kick off the week we started at the Ironman Melbourne Expo at St Kilda where we had the latest 2012 On-Road performance models on display including the Trinity Advanced SL 0 model done up in custom green and gold colours for Brad Kahlefeldt!

As well as having bikes on display we gave away cowbells and t-shirts throughout the 5 days at the expo which were a hit with the kids out there! Especially the Go Mum and Go Dad t-shirts!

Thursday night we had a Giant Athlete Presentation night at True South in Black Rock where we presented 20 selected Giant athletes to a great audience, see a pic of the athletes below from the night.

Race day came around fast and the Giant crew were on hand at the Great Provider around a 1km before the finish cheering on athletes as they ran past, the highlight was seeing Leon Nardella from Giant Cycling World Ormond come past!

Check out a few of the pics from the event and our video below!
