Giant Donates Bikes To Kids Foundation

Apr182011

Giant Australia has donated two kids’ bikes to burns victims and brothers Brock and Rhys. They were involved in a house fire just before Christmas in 2008 and Brock sustained burns to 45% of his body.

On Friday the 22nd of April a group of riders will accompany Olympic Games Gold Medallist Susie O’Neill and her husband Cliff Fairley on a 1200km bike ride that will leave from Port Melbourne in Victoria and arrive at Port Macquarie 7 days later. The ride is a fundraiser for the Kids Foundation and so far almost $90,000 has been raised for the event. Giant have also donated a Trinity Advanced SL time trial bike that will be awarded to the highest fundraiser of the Port to Port ride.

Dave Orlowski has made the journey all the way from the USA to partake in the ride, Dave placed third in the original Ironman race in 1978 in Hawaii which is now the most popular one day endurance based event in the world. For Brock’s story and more information on the Port to Port ride head on over to the Kid’s foundation website here.
