MC Cyclery + Giant Demo Weekend
Giant Bicycles Australia travelled up the Hume from Melbourne last week to spend a weekend with MC Cyclery in which consumers were given with the opportunity to demo the latest 2012 On-Road and Off-Road performance bikes.
Saturday was held at Ourimbah with a fantastic trail network awaiting keen mountain bikers and some nice back roads were on hand for the tarmac warriors to tame! MC Cyclery and Giant were up nice and early and had everything setup and ready to go for the first session at 10am. Riders were greeted by the many friendly staff and each rider was personally setup on a bike before they headed out onto the trails or road. The weather held up for most of the day with only a bit of rain coming in the early afternoon but most of the trails remained in good condition ensuring everyone had a great time.
Giant sponsored athlete Jared Rando also held a couple of masterclass sessions where a select number of riders were taken out onto the trails for some personal skills tuition, the feedback from riders was extremely positive and all the riders were eager to put their newly learned skills into practice.
As well as the mountain bike sessions several people took the opportunity to ride some of the latest Performance road bikes in the 2012 line-up. A range of road bikes including TCR Advanced 2's, TCR Advanced W's & TCR Advanced SL 1's were taken out onto the quiet Ourimbah back roads and everyone was more than impressed with the way the new bikes rode.
Sunday's session was held a little further North at Awaba, after negotiating the up and down dirt road we setup at the main carpark and prepared the demo bikes for the first of three sessions. Several people were keen for the road demos and a couple of climbs in the road really gave a good indication of how well the new bikes perform out of the saddle.
Unfortunately mother nature couldn't quite cooperate for the final session with a heavy downpour arriving a bit before the third and final session was due to take place, lightning followed shortly there after and so the final session was cancelled.
The whole weekend was a great success though with lots of smiling faces to be seen and by the sounds of things there might be a few early Christmas presents purchased at MC Cyclery over the coming days!
Giant Bicycles Australia would to thank all the staff that helped on the day including the MC Cyclery crew and Giant crew as well as the guys from skeleton key for the awesome photos! Check them out below..
