Oscar's New Ride
Oscar Carlson began his personal racing career in triathlon in 1985 and has had a vast career in the sport ever since including multiple wins in all distances competing through many different age groups. Now years later as a 70 year old, Oscar has once again qualified for the most famous race on the Ironman calendar.. the Ford Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii held in October of this year.
Giant Australia surprised Oscar when he was presented with a brand new TCR Advanced road bike at Richmond Boulevard where he was training with his triathlon squad. The bike will no doubt clock up some kilometers on the road before the big race in October. The bike was presented to Oscar by Nick Wakeling, the MP's secretary for aged care which Oscar found quite amusing.
Oscar will now train hard over the next four months where he aims to either win or podium at Kona on the 8th of October. Check out Oscar's triathlon coaching site here.
We wish Oscar all the best in the build up to Kona 2011!
