About 40 years ago, I crashed my bike into gutter after the stem broke. Then about 2 years ago (only a few metres from that spot) I was collected by a bike that came down in a race and going through the fence.

never ride in thongs learned that lesson as a kid. I was about 14 coming home from somewhere stood up on the pedals, the toe strap broke on the thong , the foot slipped forward off the pedal. The top of my toes rubbed along the ground but worst of all i found the cross bar............
Had to have a little sit down on the side of the road for a little while before continuing home.....

I remember being about eight and riding back from the shop on my dragster (yes, with the banana seat and all!) with some tins of spaghetti hanging off the left hand grip, first right hand corner I went around the tins swung in and jammed in the front spokes and sent me flying straight over the handlebars... a bit like my riding now really...

About 14yrs ago I was riding a mates bike from our office upto headquarters to do some photocopying. On the way back down to our officer I had an arm full of paperwork for about 30 trainees (army talk for students) and as I came into the transport compound the front wheel hit a rock and caused the wheel to turn in the opposite direction. Due to only have one hand on the bar, lost control OTB and then thought would be smart break my fall with my left arm. Well I broke my fall and dislocated my left shoulder and paperwork went everywhere. The medical staff came out and then rushed me to hospital to have it put back into place with no medication to take the pain away. One month later after the incident it was time for a reconstruction of the shoulder and had a titanium screwed inserted into my shoulder. Lesson learnt, never put your arm out to stop yourself and never fall off in front of an office full of medics.

I did that once the arm part yeah i was on camp and they didn't lock me into the harness for the flying fox so about 5 m down, the harness snaped and I put my right hand to prevent my fall and broke it again, They sticked a metal plate to kinda of keeping it from cruching my hand, I knew it was broken when i fell on it because i have broken my arm both of my wrists and had a TV fall on my leg, I recon your pretty lucky.

Ok this is going to sound really funny but not at the time it acctually hurt alot. Ok so I was riding my bike around school right, and there are like 9 or 10 steps that I ride down all the time, the guys dared me to go down them, so i did but it had been raining, so my bike wheel slipped on the 3rd step from the top, and I kinda ofgot my foot caught and well, before I knew it i was on the bottom step like lying on the stairs head first, I looked up and what do you know it there is Mr Russo, just standing there with a really odd look on his face. I was so lucky I didn't break anything like a time at home when I broke my arm and sheared of my elbow, anyway, the way I was looking at him was a bit weird lets see, I was like in between his legs really odd, akward and embarrassing

When I was about 13 I had an Apollo Mark II with yellow tuffs and while riding down to the shops on the road one day I saw a girl in my class walking ahead of me so I decided to show off and jump up the gutter and stop in front of her. Only problem was I didn't see the hole in the ground just past the gutter so as my front wheel hit it I flew forward and the 'boys' smacked full speed into the stem and I went face first over the handlebars into the dirt. I was paid out so much the next day at school.

my most embarrasing moment was when i moved house next to a park and there was a big dirt jump there coming off a steep hill. All my friends who were much more skilled riders were jumping off it. I went up to my friend and asked to borrow his bike. He let me and i went right to the top of the hill and went down at top speed...i got to the jump and chickened out and staked at the top of the jump and then slid right to the bottom...i had trouble walking for the next very long time

When I was a kid I was showing off on my brand new bike, coming down a hill really fast, and I started swinging my legs around.

My foot ended up getting caught between my wheel and my fork, stopping me dead in my tracks. I flipped over the front of the bike, though still attached by my foot to the wheel.

I landed face first and knocked my tooth out, and was then hit in the back of the head by the bike.

Somehow I didn't break a single bone, but that was definitely my most embarrassing moment, and my girlfriends still tease me about it!
