This is the perfect group for me! It's really super embarassing how often I fall off my bike :)
The most recent time was yesturday just as I rode up to a big group of friends for a velodrome session. Clipped out my left foot and leaned to the right!
The time before that was 2 weeks ago when I was trying to get up a curb... had my foot clipped in and didn't lift my back wheel high enough. Thankfully there wasn't really anyone around that time.
I guess it comes with the territory... and luckily I've never hurt anything except my ego :)
I'm really glad I'm not the only uncoordinated one!
Have you ever forgotten your feet are clipped in??

I'm "honoured" to join this group.
I'd had my shoes & cleats for a month or so, and after a few near misses, had perfected the stop/start routine.
One day on my commute home I was on the bike path approaching my last set of lights, with 400m to go, so i must have been really relaxed.
Nearing the red light to cross the traffic, I unclipped my right foot, started to lean, then realised I was leaning the wrong side. I normally unclip the left foot, so fell in a heap in front of slowing cars.
Fortunately it was after sunset, so I couldn't see the faces in the cars, but it must have looked hilarious.

Not realy forgot but tried to unclip too late and gravity has the same effect, no discrimination there. I did have some old shoes and they had served me well but the day came I was stopping behind a car and went to unclip but to my astonishment my right foot just flounded from left to right and back again with no affect. The soul of the shoe had torn apart. Yep gravity is was working then to. I would have loved to seen this from behind.

we were out on a ride, about a dozen of us all up, and a few of the others had dropped behind so we stopped and waited for them to catch up. I unclipped one foot but left the other one clipped in. We were just standing there quietly chatting when we heard the others coming up behind us. I turned my body around to have a look and overbalanced, felt myself going so reached out, my friend grabbed me but she also overbalanced and so both of us crashed in a heap on the ground. Luckily there was no injuries or damage to the bikes, and once the others had stopped laughing we carried on ridding.

I did just remember an incident when a friend of mine came down for a weekend to sample my local riding areas. He had a pretty much brand-new GT Zaskar LE build, very flash. My aged AlpineStars was about at the peak of its componentry powers, too. Cheap frame, but every component was top-notch. XTR, T-Gear, USE, X-lite, all that jazz. I'd spent way more on it than my girlfriend had authorised, put it that way.
So there we were, being obnoxoius gadget-freaks on an offroad night-ride with a group of maybe ten other riders. Anyway, we swapped bikes for a bit, just to try each other's setups, y'know. Nothing kinky.
About five minutes in, I was just commenting on how twitchy the Zaskar was, and Tim was commenting on how the geometry of my bike was overly forgiving, when I managed to twitch the bike *right into Tim*, causing a frantic tangle.
Neither of us got out of the pedals in time. So two of us and about four grand (in UK pounds) of bike ended up in an embarrassed heap right in front of a crowd of other riders. Who laughed.
I wasn't best pleased. But looking back, I deserved every second of that embarrassment.

My best moment was during a duathlon, coming back into transition, I had one leg off the bike, and was trying to get my other leg over post haste... Forgetting that the leg in question was still clipped in. I ended up kicking the bike out while still attached, and almost took out another competitor. Needless to say I impressed everyone!

I had been riding for a short period of time in China, had no language skills and very little appreciation of the crowed pedestrian/bike paths at the side of the very busy city streets. On this particular day as I was coming back to my apartment on the crowded pathway I momentarily forgot I was clipped in at a very chaotic intersection. The light turned to red. Suffice to say the very surprised older female ebike rider did not appreciate my attempts to balance off her shoulder, sending both of us to the ground. along with 2 or 3 other bike riders and a dazed pedestrian. I did not need to understand the language judging from their gestures.

i just started riding with clipped shoes in the beginning of this year... Now i'm starting to get good at it but i had my few moments, specially when stopping and unclipping one shoe and falling to the other side... totally spastic, but i guess that happens to everyone... but my most embracing moment was at the light once.... stopped unclipped one shoe and off i went to the other side... but i guess i was so embarrassed about it that i literally bounced back up... pretending that nothing happened as if i did it on purpose... didn't want to look around to check if anyone saw what happen but i couldn't avoid noticing the 2 chick in the car next to me cracking themselves laughing in the car... couldn't do much but laugh too... hehehehe

At a small and insignificant cycling event known as the UCI World Road Championships. Not so much forgot as much as I unclipped the right foot at a crossing point then over balanced to my left and crashed while stopped waiting for the peleton to pass by. Quite possibly on world wide tv coverage!
