Go the waxing, so much easier than having to shave all the time.

Some thoughts on having shaved my legs. . . . .
having 'cleared 50yrs of old-growth-forest' I went to bed sorta wondering if they (my legs) were, in fact, still mine: cos they sure felt like someone elses !
I did NOT sleep well cos the simple sensation of so much bare skin was too too intense every time I moved.
THEY FEEL FANTASTIC !
I have answered my previous question re the rash effect when wearing leg-warmers: definitely the hair was the major factor in that discomfort.
Putting leg-warmers on is more difficult with naked skin, but, their effectiveness is multiplied considerably.
It was brilliant to ride home at midday without the leg-warmers on ! Scary as the 'Casper-on-a-bike'-look undoubtedly was for the casual observer.
And I had NO IDEA just how 'ripped' my calf-muscles really are.
Last word: guys, if you haven't shaved your legs, ever: have a lash; it's a bit weird, but damn it feels good !

I shave my legs once every 2-3 weeks. It feels great and makes you go out and exercise to keep them toned. And it's wind resistant when your riding???

OK, so I'm probably bored. Tends to happen when you can't get on yer bike & blow the cobwebs away. So:
because I am a firm believer in the "don't-knock-it-till-you've-tried-it" school of thought. . . . .
and really really bored,
I shaved my legs !
Definitely a fun-sensation (absolutely need to get 'em out in the sun !)
Didn't realize I had quite so many scars on my legs.
I think I've missed a few spots too.
So tomorrow morning (2am-ish) will be a most interesting experience as I ride to work.
Will get back to you on that.

Jason;
it's not just the "cycling-fashion-police" who give me grief: it's EVERYBODY who knows I wear lycra.
But. . . .
they ALL agree, riding a bike does WONDERS for your legs !
Am not sure if the chafing (from wearing leg-warmers under) is due most to the elastic in them or the hair on my legs. . . . .
am warming toi the idea of shaving but might wait till the weather is a bit warmer too.
Thanks for the info on the vastus-medialis: possibly too-much-information, but certainly will bear it in mind should the opportunity (to stroke someone's thigh with intent !?!?!) arise !

Hey, Belinda;
what the hell is a vastus medialis ?
I am tempted to shave my legs now: bought a new full-length suit, which feels a bit weird behind the knees &
my leg-warmers give me grief unless I wear them over my shorts.
Has been a bit nippy at 3am lately !

You wear your leg warmers over your shorts? I'd imagine the cycling fashion police giving you grief too! - though I don't think they chafe so much.
The vastus medialis is a pretty sexy muscle. Its the big one one that starts halfway down your thigh and runs down to the inside of your knee. If you're ever stroking somebody's thigh (with intent) that's the one you'll be paying attention to.

I have been shaving my legs for the past 3 years once a week. The look is great (well not so much during winter with white legs). Summer tan is great.
True about the "gravel-rash/infection". It is a lot easier to clean a wound where there is no hair.
Also shaved legs feels cooler during the warmer weather when you have pants on.
Women love shaved legs on a bloke.
Question: How high do you shave?
I will post a pic next time I shave my legs.
