50k of dirt roads - first 16k in general upward direction - was rewarded with a couple of pizzas and a glass or 2 of wine at Di Lusso Estate in Mudgee. What a great day for a ride!

Description
One of the best things about riding a bike is being able to eat whatever you like and not feeling bad cause you know that you will burn those excess Kj riding home.
Ice cream, chocolate, a few beers, cider its all good being a cyclist

It's true when you are getting in the Ks food is just a fuel that is burnt up at a great rate of knots. I have had different things going on and haven't been able to even ride to work and have found that I'm putting on weight. I have been managing portion size (not well but I have good intentions). so its only 1.5kg but it has not even been a week. Cycling is really a great way to keep trim. And beat that thigh rubbing when you run.

Russell;
I don't know where you live
but I'm coming to visit !
Kidding.
The knee is 'better' for 2 days of rest: which the rest of me HATED !
Unbelievably; I suspect, having ridden my usual 50k's to & from work today & finding it blissful to be back in the seat,
I may, MAY, just give the knee another couple of days rest, as I have the next 2 days off too.
Sometimes, a bizarre-ass roster can work in ones favour.

Having lost about 2kg over the last week (I don't know why)
I suspect I may be about to pack it back on. . . . . . .
have twisted my right knee &, though I hate it, have promised myself NOT to ride the bike on my 2 days off.
Funny thing: even with the 'dodgy' knee, I made the 20klm ride home last night in 37mins !
Have been into the red wine & chocolate to compensate.
Which will only be made worse drinking beer whilst watching the Bledisloe Cup match tomorrow night.

Hi Robert, bummer about the knee. As for the red wine and chocolate, have I got those bases covered with a wife who is a wine maker and a mate who is managing a coco plantation in Vanuatu.
I want a friend managing a coco plantation in Vanuatu.........they sound cool

Struggling to recall a ride from the last few years that didn't involve at least some cake, coffee, beer or vodka... sometimes all of the above!

last friday we had poker night with the boys and we did the obscene thing of having one pizza each... no guilt here, went for a 25km MTB ride on the next day... and here is the photo to prove it: http://tinyurl.com/3ooyu3g

Just had wedges for lunch at midnight. Eggs and beans and hopefully pancakes for dinner in the morning. Nightshift is weird but its easier to get up at 4 in the arvo than morning.
